Eco Box Review by Gemma- February 2021

Another day, another review- and this one is a new box for us here at Boxession! I would like to say a big thank you to Kate for sending this box out to review!

EcoBox are a montly subscription box providing eco friendly lifestyle and beauty products to help make sustainable living easier. Included in the boxes are items such as Bath and Shower, Kitchenware, Self Care, Home Accessories and much more, so you are guaranteed a nice surprise every month. All items are eco friendly, cruelty free and sustainable!

If you missed me unboxing this on our facebook group, you can catch it here on our youtube channel:

The box arrived via Royal Mail and it was so quick too- literally took a couple of days to get here. There was no outer packaging, just the box itself, further cementing the eco friendly message by removing all unnecessary packaging!

It was really heavy, which told me I was in for a treat- and I wasn’t disappointed!

4 new brands to discover and the perfect mix to have a good old pamper night! The theme of the box was ‘Love Yourself’- apt with it being the month of love!

So onto the items then! The first one was from a brand called Luneia, who I have never heard of before! It was their Radiance Ritual Glow Mask, with an RRP of £15. This is an exfoliating and hydrating weekly face mask. It contains a potent blend of glycolic and salicylic acids, which are gentle liquid exfoliants to improve the skins surface and pore lining. It also loosens dead skin cells and decongests the pores to leave you with smooth and radiant skin, whilst also addressing issues such as dullness, uneven texture, fine lines, scarring, pigmentation and congestion. As if that wasn’t enough, it is also loaded with hydrating Sugarcane Squalane, calming Prickly Pear Seed Oil and antioxidant Vitamin E to keep your skin calm and hydrated long after you take it off! It is also fragrance free and has a gel to cream texture. The packaging is all eco conscious and is fully recyclable. I absolutely loved this mask and am actually annoyed I didn’t discover it sooner! I have quite sensitive skin at times so I am always a little apprehensive when trying new brands and products but I needn’t have worried, this is so gentle but really effective and my skin practically glowed all day!

Item number 2 is yet another new brand for me! Lumore Neroli and Rose Geranium Bath Soak with an RRP of £14. This contains a nourishing blend of essential oils that have been specifically chosen to relax your body, mind and soul. A mixture of Himalayan Sea Salt, Dead Sea Salt and Coconut oil, it is the ultimate pampering treat. I don’t actually have a bath in the flat where I live but I do like to use this sort of thing as a foot soak too, especially if I have been on my feet all day or have had a tough workout! This comes in a huge jar, smells absolutely beautiful and left my feet feeling so soft and pampered. I cannot wait until the lockdown is over so I can try these out in my mums bath!

The third item was Willow and Blossom Botanicals Jasmine and White Amber Candle with an RRP of around £10.95. It came is a small copper coloured tin and is made from soy wax which has been hand poured in Liverpool. It has a rich floral, woody amber fragrance containing Jasmine Sambac, Cashmeran Wood and White Amber. It smells so beautiful, part of me doesn’t want to light it as I don’t want it to run out! It really is such a stunning scent and the tin looks really classy on my mantelpiece too!

The fourth and final item was Purity Radiance Eye Gel with an RRP of £16.99. The first thing I want to point out with this product is that the label is made out of seed paper, so you can plant it and get some lovely flowers from it! This eye gel is ideal for puffiness, dark circles, inflammation, swelling and even fine lines around the eye area. It is formulated with Arnica Oil, which has powerful anti-inflammatory properties, to help combat tired and puffy eyes for a much fresher and more revived complexion. It also contains Marine Collagen to help with fine lines and wrinkles, Avocado Oil to help combat dark circles and swelling and Green Tea Extract to reduce puffiness, tighten the skin and combat dark circles. I am very excited to give this a try once my current eye cream is empty as my dark circles are out of control now I am almost 30!

So a quick tot up of the prices brings the total RRP to around £56.94. I was unable to find an exact price for the candle but I went with the closest option on their website, so this price may be slightly inaccurate!

The Prices

So how much are we saving based on the total RRP above?

  • Monthly Box- £28.00 per month if you pay monthly
  • 3 months subscription- £26.60 per month
  • 6 months subscription- £25.90 per month

Free shipping is included. Boxes are shipped on or around the 2nd of the month. So based off the monthly box price, you would be saving £28.94!

My Verdict

I am always happy to review boxes like this as I am doing what I can to be more sustainable in the items that I use and I have been introduced to 4 amazing new brands that I will definitely be keeping my eye on. I already know I will be checking out the other candles in the Willow and Blossom range! I think this is a box that is done very well from the ethics right down to the finer details of the packaging, the products and working with small uk businesses. If you are looking to make sustainable lifestyle changes and want a good place to start, you can’t go wrong with EcoBox!
