I would like to start by saying a big thankyou to Kerry over at Of The Makers for sending this adorable box to me to review!
Of The Makers is a brand new quarterly subscription box containing carefully selected handmade items from UK makers, designers and small businesses. The items cover a range of categories such as lifestyle accessories, health and wellbeing, fashion and jewellery and home design/decor- so definitely something for everyone!
If you missed me unboxing this on our facebook group, you can catch it here on our youtube channel:
The box arrived via royal mail. It is letterbox sized, so no red card if you aren’t in when it arrives! The box itself is very cute- a pink colour with bumblebee stickers and branded stickers around it, it definitely stands out! Once I opened it up, I was met with:
It was so nicely packaged with a handwritten note too- I love the personal touch! Once I had peeled back the tissue, I was so pleasantly surprised by what I found. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was definitely lovely!
There were business cards included for all of the businesses, with designs drawn by Angelina Berry, which I have scattered throughout the pictures of the other items so you can see her beautiful work!
The first item I took out was a greetings card by Halfpenny Ink, with a Flamingo design. The card came with an envelope and is blank inside for you to write your own message to the lucky recipient- if you can bear to part with it! Greetings cards are always useful items to have lying around as you never know when you may need one and the design of this is just adorable too!
The next item was wrapped up inside a paper bag and on removal I found an adorable smiley face cloud decoration by Clare Phillipa Crafts. This is honestly so cute, so squishy and soft as well. I have this hung up in my bedroom currently- I love cute and quirky items for my home decor as it is something a little bit different!
Next up was another very cute item- a rainbow keyring by Handmade By N. This is in cute pastel colours and will make it impossible to lose my keys- it is now attached to my car keys so I can show it off at every opportunity!
Next up were some really sweet earrings from One of a Kind Club. I love jewellery and don’t think you can ever have enough! These were a hoop style with a red colour hexagon charm on them- very simple but very cute too. They are the sort of earrings you could wear day or night and they will go with most items!
I was delighted by the next item, as I am making an effort to be more sustainable in my choices! They were some reusable face pads by Oh Sew Charlotte, 2 were spotty and 2 were floral in design. You can use these to remove makeup, face masks, cleansers- anything really! They have a textured side which is super soft and they can be washed and reused- meaning you can stop using cotton pads that are not eco friendly!
The final item was a compact mirror by Hannah Wisdom Textiles. It came in a blue mesh bag and depicted a fish design which is definitely different to anything I have seen before! It is a great size for slipping in your pocket or makeup bag to take on the go or for a trip away and is nice and sturdy too!
This is a quarterly subscription and you will receive your box in the 3rd week of January, April, July and October.
- Quarterly Subscription- £35 per quarter
- Single Box- £35
- 1 year Subscription (4 boxes)- £126
They will also be doing premium boxes for events such as Mothers Day and Christmas. These boxes will be priced at £49 and will be a one off purchase.
I was so pleasantly surprised by this box and all the adorable items inside. The great thing about this subscription is that all of the items would make lovely gifts individually, or the box itself would make a great gift too. I will be keeping everything however, it is all so cute! I think what really sets this box apart from the rest is that they include items that are so different from any other boxes and they also support small businesses- which we applaud at Boxession!
