I would like to start this review by saying a big thank you to Dean and the team at Latest in Beauty for the continued collaboration with us- we really are grateful!
Latest in Beauty are one of the top subscription services around and it is easy to see why- you get to choose what items you want in your box from a large selection, meaning you know exactly what you are getting and that it will be right for you! Every month has a different theme and a new item is made available at midnight every night- you have to be quick to snap some of them up! They also do collaboration boxes and limited edition edits too, so it is always worth keeping an eye on their website and socials (linked below)!
As always, I unboxed this live on our Facebook group and you can catch that here now:
I was slightly late ordering my box for September, so it actually arrived on the 1st October- I have never been one for impeccable timing! Septembers theme was ‘Backstage Beauty’ and there was a great selection of items to pick from. I managed to narrow it down to 6 somehow, and these were my picks:
As always, I tried to select only cruelty free items based off my research before making my choices.
The first item is from a brand I am a big fan of- Korres Greek Yoghurt Foaming Cream Cleanser (20ml- RRP approx £3). Korres are a Greek brand who produce natural skincare products- like this cleanser! It is a nourishing cream to foam formula designed to remove impurities to leave the skin soft and supple. I really like foaming cleansers, as you can really feel them get deep into your pores- plus they are great fun to use! I was expecting big things from this based on past experiences with Korres and I wasn’t disappointed- it smells lovely and lathers up so well- I removed a full face of makeup with just one cleanse. I may have to invest in the full size, as it doesn’t break the bank!
The next item is one that I am very familiar with- I had actually just run out so this came at the perfect time! Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel (35ml, RRP approx £10). I love this cleanser, it is a gel to oil formula that I like to use as my second cleanse after a foaming cleanser to get any residual impurities or makeup. It has Vitamins C & E, Omega 6, Starflower Oil, Pumpkin Enzymes, Chamomile & Rose and has won many awards- including being inducted into LIB Haul of Fame! It just melts into my skin and it is so gentle but effective. It also leaves the skin illuminated, nourished and fresh, so an absolute winner!
The next item was from a brand I have never tried before, but it definitely intrigued me! Strivectin Super C Retinol Serum (7ml, RRP approx £15). This has been clinically proven to brighten and correct the skin, improve the look of dullness, uneven skin tone, elasticity, rough texture and fine lines- so a great all rounder! It also comes with a separate dropper so you can get the exact amount you need! I am turning 30 in february next year so preventing the signs of ageing are starting to become a concern to me. I cannot wait to see what this does for my skin with long term use- although it is too soon to tell, I definitely feel like my skin is more radiant than before!
The next item is another brand I am a big fan of and will compliment my other choices perfectly too! Ayumi Sandalwood and Aloe Vera Toner (50ml, RRP approx £2.33). This has a hydrating formula of proven and respected ingredients including Glycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Oat, Aloe Vera, Lactic Acid, Willowbark, Sandalwood and Calendula to maintain a delicate complexion and soft, supple skin. I always like to have a toner handy as I use it every day as part of my skincare routine. Aloe Vera and Calendula are 2 of my favourite skincare ingredients so this toner was straight into my basket as one of my picks. I have not got round to trying this yet as I am still finishing up my current toner, but it is next in line when I do!
The final 2 items are very similar- I am nothing if not predictable! Masque Bar Rose Gold Foil Sheet Mask (RRP £4.99) is a moisturising sheet mask containing natural fruit extracts, designed to soothe, purify, brighten and restore the skin. I absolutely love sheet masks and wasted no time trying this out! It actually is rose gold in colour, so I definitely felt like a queen whilst I was using it! It fitted my face really well and when removed, left my skin feeling radiant and smooth!
The final item was another sheet mask, this time Rodial Vitamin C Energising Sheet Mask (RRP £14.00). This is a bio-cellulose mask infused with vitamin c, vitamin b3, amino acids, green tea and hyaluronic acid to reveal glowing, youthful looking skin whilst also combatting the key signs of aging such as fine lines. It is so cooling when you apply it, as it has a gel texture to it and when removed, my skin was plumped and illuminated! I have tried a few items by Rodial before and have been impressed every time!
So those were my 6 choices and a rough calculation brings my approximate RRP to £49.32!
Latest in Beauty have recently changed up their pricing and subscription structure, so it is now as follows:
- 6 products (of your choice) per month for £12.95 + £3.95 delivery.
You can cancel this at any time. You have full control over the items you receive and there is no minimum subscription commitment. The day you create your first edit will be the day that your subscription renews every month and you have 30 days in which to make your selections- you can also create an extra box every month before your renewal date for the same price as your monthly subscription, so you never miss out on the products that you want to try.
I absolutely love my selections this month- even though I knew what I was getting, it is still a nice little treat for myself and no nasty surprises. How many of you have been sent a shade that doesn’t suit you or a product that is not suited to your skin type in a subscription box? I know I have! That is why Latest in Beauty is so great- you are in control! There is always loads to choose from and a great selection of items across categories such as skincare, make up, body care, haircare and tools, so there is always something for everyone!
