Toppbox Review By Darren – August 2020

I always look forward to receiving my next Toppbox as I am guaranteed to have an amazing selection of new products to try out! This month was no exception and as usual I had to wait for the unboxing to see what there was, Nazia had already taken a peek to see if there were any items she would be testing herself (nothing new there!). I would like to say a big thank you to Alham for sending this box for me to unbox and review.

If you missed my wife and I unboxing Toppbox live on Facebook, you can catch it here on the BoXession YouTube channel:

What did I think of the products?

Hawkins & Brimble Energising Moisturiser
This is a brand I am familiar with as I have used a few of their products before, but this moisturiser was a new product for me to try out. This one arrived at a good time as I have just finished the moisturiser I had been using from a previous box. It has a subtle scent and a little goes a long way with a pump or 2 from the easy to use dispenser providing enough to cover my face. It rubbed into the skin quickly and left my face feeling hydrated and refreshed, I will need to see how it performs in the long term but I am more than happy with the results so far.

Terre De Mars 008 Reddition Body Cleanser, Cosmos Organic
This body cleanser has an amazing fresh smell and is suitable for all skin types. The mix of aloe vera, rosemary and coffee extracts left my skin feeling clean and revived after use in the shower. It is also a cruelty free product which is something worth looking out for when buying new products.

Professor Herb Natural Micellar Cleansing Water
I used the cleanser in combination with the moisturiser and found they worked well together. A few drops onto a cotton pad was more then enough to cleanse my face and neck, it didn’t leave my skin feeling dry which is important to me as I normally have dry skin and find some cleaners a bit too harsh and drying. This is another product I will need to see how it performs in the long term.

Skin & Tonic London Peppermint Balm
The balm has a fresh minty scent and taste which left my lips feeling refreshed, revived and slightly tingly! With the colder weather on the way this will be something I will keep in my work bag ready to use to stop my lips becoming dry and chapped. This is another product which is cruelty free in this month’s box.

Niche & Cult, Yadah Red Energy Face Mask
Every so often I will use a face mask, normally when myself and Nazia decide we are going to have a pamper evening. With the mask in this months box it made for the perfect excuse to enjoy an evening taking care of ourselves. The mask was easy to apply and stuck well to my face, within a few minutes there was a pleasant warming sensation which helped to sooth my skin. It left my face feeling fresh and hydrated and I will keep an eye out for this brand again in the future.

Ruth Mastenbroek Oxford Eau de Parfam
I really liked the smell of this one, it has a pleasing woody scent with a hint of vanilla. I found it to not be over powering like some eau de parfams. I will happily keep this sample handy in my work bag for when I need a quick freshen up. Due to the full size product being quite expensive I don’t think I will be getting it any time soon.

This month’s box had a great selection of products for me to test out, there were some familiar brands I had previously used but I had not used any of these products before.
