Toppbox Review By Darren June 2020

As always, I look forward to the delivery of my next Toppbox as there is always a great selection of new products for me to test out. I think Nazia’s love of subscription boxes has definitely rubbed off on me! This month was no exception and I am happy to be able to review the box again as I was unable to review the previous box sent in April due to work commitments related to the pandemic. I would like to say a big thank you to Alham for sending this box for me to review and for his understanding when I was unable to review the previous box.

If you missed my wife and I unboxing Toppbox live on Facebook, you can catch it here on the BoXession YouTube channel:

What I thought:

Anatomicals No Old Bags Allowed Revitalising Eye Gel
Anatomicals is a brand I have received many times before from Toppbox but this eye gel is a new item for me. It is a thick gel with no smell which gave a slight tingle as I applied it under my eyes. I have only been using it for a few days but I feel like it has helped to reduce the tiredness under my eyes!

ZEOS for Men QU3 Plant Based Face Scrub
Another brand I have seen before in previous boxes, I have used some of the QU3 face scrubs but this one was a new product for me. The scrub has coconut husk in it to act as an exfoliant and did a good job at removing the dirt and dead skin from my face. The scrub didn’t leave my skin dry afterwards thanks to the shea butter, I have dry skin so I avoid products that dry it out further so this is something that I plan to continue using.

Activated Charcoal 100% Natural Deodorant Balm
This deodorant balm has a pleasing menthol scent which is not overpowering, it was easy to apply with the balm being soft and easy to remove the required amount from the pot. It left my underarms feeling fresh for the day when I applied it, I don’t normally use a rub on deodorant preferring a spray but I think this would be the perfect replacement to take away with me if I needed to pack lightly when travelling.

Good Days Organics Primitive Man Shampoo
As I normally keep my hair buzzed short, I don’t need to wash my hair that often so this bottle will probably last me a while. The shampoo is free from artificial fragrances, chemicals and SLS and I found it gentle on my skin and didn’t dry out my scalp like some shampoos have in the past. It left the little hair I have feeling clean and fresh and as I only have to use a little each time it should keep me going for a while.

Seacret Mineral Rich Black Mud Face Soap
Seacret is another brand I have used before from boxes and I have always found their products to be of a high quality. This soap bar was no exception, it lathered up well and helped scrub off the dead skin and dirt. The bar has an earthy smell which is unusual but not unpleasant, which is due to the dead sea mud used to make it.

Seascape Refresh Hand and Nail Cream
On taking the plastic wrap off the box there was a strong smell of lavender, I am not the biggest fan of lavender but I still gave the cream a go. With the amount of hand washing I have to do at the moment, regular use of hand cream is a must. The cream left my hands feeling soft and moisturised but they smell was just a bit too much for me, luckily Nazia was more than happy to take this cream for herself so it won’t go to waste.

Toppbox is a great chance to try out a range of different products and with it being tailored to you based on your answers to a few simple questions when you subscribe you are sure to find some great items. The box as always is amazing value for money with the cost of the items being over double the cost of the subscription. The main issue I have is stopping Nazia from pinching the items she likes the look of!
