TOPPBOX Review by Darren & Nazia – January 2020

Since my last Toppbox back in August the company have decided to go back to their original mixed product boxes. I have missed receiving these boxes to see what new products there would be for me to try each time. So, when I was asked to unbox and review their latest box I was happy to do so, looking forward to seeing what would be sent this month! The format has changed slightly with boxes being sent out every 2 months now. I’d like to say a big thank you to Alham for sending this box to review.

If you missed my wife and I unboxing Toppbox live on Facebook, you can catch it here on the BoXession YouTube channel:

What did I receive?

  • Contents Card
  • Milano Cento Deodorant Stick 75ml £15.00
  • Friendly Soaps Co Orange & Grapefruit Bar 95g £2.25
  • Seacrest Pure Salt Cleanse & Polish Facial Wash 100ml £39.00
  • Lunar Seaweed and Aloe Vera Eye Gel 30ml £10.00
  • Anatomicals And Ain’t That The Tooth Whitening Toothpaste 125ml £4.49

What I thought:

Milano Cento Deodorant Stick
My normal deodorant choice is a spray on one but I was happy to give this stick one a try! It has a fresh scent that is not overpowering and went on smoothly, leaving me feeling dry over the past few days I have been using it. A stick deodorant is always handy to have especially when going away on holiday as it takes up little space and doesn’t need to be included in my liquids bag. I can see this will be getting a lot of use over the next month.

Friendly Soaps Orange & Grapefruit Bar
On opening the box this was the first thing I could smell, the citrus hit that you get is mainly from the oranges in this bar. Using it to wash in the morning really helped to wake me up and set me up ready for the day ahead. The soap didn’t leave my skin feeling dry, so the essential oils and shea butter used to make it really worked well. Again, another product I plan to use when going away as I can pack it into my travel bag and save space.

Pure Salt Cleanse & Polish Facial Wash
A brand I have received before in previous box and have enjoyed using, so I was looking forward to trying out this facial wash and it did not disappoint. It left my face feeling smooth and clean and didn’t dry out the skin which I have found some facial washes do. It helped to remove all the daily dirt and grime leaving my skin feeling fresh and revived. This item alone is worth more than the cost of the box!

Lunar Seaweed and Aloe Vera Eye Gel
Lunar is another brand I have seen before in a previous box, so again I had been looking forward to trying it out. This aloe eye gel is meant to reduce the puffiness around tired eyes, I have only been using it for the past few days so I am not able to comment on its use long term. In the few days I have been using it I have noticed that the skin around my eyes is not as dry which is always a positive, the gel applies easily with a little going a long way. I managed to pump out a bit too much on the first use priming the pump so Nazia got the chance to try it out too. I’m going to continue using this and see what the long-term improvements are but I’m more than happy with how it’s making the area around my eyes less dry and feeling fresher.

Anatomicals And Ain’t That The Tooth Whitening Toothpaste
Anatomicals is brand I am familiar with and have used a number of their products in the past, I was interested in trying out this toothpaste but unfortunately, it wasn’t the product for me. I have always found baking soda gives toothpaste an odd flavour which I really do not like. Nazia was happy to give this one a try for me and was happy to report it left her teeth feeling clean, the whitening action will take a bit of time to have its full effect but it is looking positive from the use over the past few days.

THIS BOX IS WORTH AN AMAZING £70.74! THAT’S A SAVING OF £43.39 THIS MONTH!

Verdict

I am really happy that TOPPBOX have gone back to their original mixed boxes, they have put together a great box with some fantastic products. With the new 2 monthly delivery it gives me the chance to use up all the products before the next box arrives as I had been building up quite a collection of products. This month’s box is amazing value for money with all the items adding up to nearly twice the subscription cost with one item alone being worth more than the box! If you’re thinking of subscribing you can use our exclusive discount BXS50 for 50% off your first box – hurry though, this offer ends 21st January!
