Latest in Beauty Review by Gemma – April 2019

We have an ongoing collaboration with LIB for the next few months, which we are very grateful for, and this month was my turn to review it!

It could not have been a better month for me, as it was the Oh So Natural Edit! If you are not familiar with Latest In Beauty, they are a box for those who like to know what they are getting every month, as you get to choose your items. They also have limited edition collections with different brands and collections of their best sellers too!

The box came via royal mail, wrapped in an outer postage bag to protect the box inside.

If you missed my unboxing of this box, you can catch it here on our YouTube channel (and subscribe if you haven’t already!):

Onto the contents then! I chose 6 items for this box (I will discuss the different options and prices shortly) and tried to choose all cruelty free items too.

The first item I chose was from haircare brand Umberto Giannini who have cruelty free symbols on the packaging. It was a Grow Scrub (RRP £9) to use on your scalp. It smells absolutely amazing and helps to remove product build up that can cause dry and itchy scalps, which helps skin calls to renew faster and allow new hair to grow. I loved this, and will definitely be sourcing more when the tub runs out, although I don’t need to use a lot so it should last a while!

The second item was another one by Umberto Giannini- this time Grow Mask (RRP £9) with Hemp, Coconut and Shea. This helps to boost hair growth, and transform a sluggish scalp and dry lifeless hair into luscious strong locks. It is perfect for dry, damaged and chemically treated hair. I have really long hair which can get dry, so I definitely was looking forward to this! I love the smell of this, and I used it after the scalp scrub- wow, my hair is so soft and nourished. I get a whiff of the smell every time my hair moves too!

The third item is one I have used before and I really like it, so I added this to my basket straight away! It is the Balance Me Hyaluronic Plumping Mist (RRP £6). I love this product, as it is so quick and easy to use. I spritz it on after cleansing and it helps to wake up my skin and plump it up. It is also the perfect size to pop in your handbag to use during the day.

The fourth item was in the cutest little cardboard pot- Shining Rose Face Balm by Scence (RRP £12). This contains rosehip oil, organic jojoba and borage with rose geranium and it smells beautiful. I keep this by my bed to apply to extra dry areas just before I go to sleep and I wake up with super moisturised and soft skin.

The fifth item was another brand I have tried before, but not this particular product It was Urban Veda’s Radiance Exfoliating Facial Polish (RRP £12.99). This contains Turmeric, fruit enzymes and Botanics to help naturally brighten, balance skin tone and boost radiance. I love a good scrub and am a fan of this brand, which is why I picked them. I do really like this, I just wish the tube was bigger ha ha!

The sixth and final item was one the Mel has raved about loads and made me very curious to try it- Nexxus Encapsulate Hair Serum (RRP £6.25). This helps to moisturise my hair without weighing it down. I have a lot of hair and making it feel weightless is important, as is keeping it healthy. I love the texture of this as well, it looks like caviar/frog spawn.

So the total RRP of the box is £55.24!

The prices:

So with this box, you have 3 different options:

  • Beauty Novice- 3 items £9 per month or £16 for a one off box.
  • Beauty Enthusiast- 6 items £15 per month or £22 for a one off box.
  • Beauty Guru- 9 items £18 per month or £25 for a one off box.

All boxes come with free postage and packaging. So for this box, I received the Beauty Enthusiast 6 item box, so my total saving is £33.24 for a one off box or £40.24 for a subscription!

My Verdict:

This was my first Latest in Beauty box (I know!), but I love the concept- you know exactly what you are getting and will never be disappointed with it. There is a new item added every day at midnight so there is always loads to choose from and I had trouble only choosing 6! Once things go out of stock, they are gone, so you need to be fast! I also have to say how quickly it arrived after I had ordered too- a matter of days!
