MaskTime Glow Starter Review by Gemma – March 2019

Thank you so much to Estee at Masktime for sending me this box to review! It is one of my favourite boxes, having been a subscriber for a while prior to taking on this collaboration for Boxession! For those of you who are unfamiliar with MaskTime, they are a KBeauty Sheet Mask Subscription box. KBeauty is light years ahead of the rest when it comes to skincare, and their masks are second to none. I have never tried a KBeauty sheet mask I didn’t like!  There are a couple of different options for subscriptions, which I will go through a little later.

For now, you can catch the video of my unboxing of this box on our YouTube channel now (and subscribe if you haven’t already!):

They have revamped their packaging this month- a cute baby pink colour with the words ‘You’ve got it glowing on’ written in white on the lid. I really like this- it’s fresh, clean and new. I couldn’t wait to get into it and find the goodies inside! Here is what I found on opening:

Look how cute it all is! That’s another thing about KBeauty- it always looks adorable! There is definitely a spring floral feel, with the theme being ‘Stop and Smell the Roses’- perfect for this time of year!

The first mask in this cute little box was by Hey, Lo and was Calming White Mask (RRP £4.00). This mask is perfect for stressed out, tired skin. It contains Milk Protein extract, which is non irritating and is amazing for sensitive skin. It hydrates and helps your skin to lock in that moisture. Mushroom extract is also included, which contains lots of powerful antioxidants which help skin to heal and reduce inflammation. I was eager to try this, as my skin can be very sensitive this time of year and needs all the help it can get to stay moisturised! I used this in the evening as part of my wind down routine and absolutely loved how relaxing it was, how luxurious it felt on my skin and how soothed my skin felt afterwards! Definitely a winner for me!

The second mask was by a brand I am familiar with- Holika Holika, and it was Pure Essence Mask Sheet Damask Rose (RRP £3.00). I was instantly drawn to the packaging of this, pink, floral and girly- I love it! This mask helps to revitalise aging skin and provide moisture to dull skin. It contains Rose Extract, which is a gentle antiseptic which helps to clean impurities away from the surface of the skin. It also has anti-inflammatory properties, which help to reduce irritation. I haven’t used this mask yet, I am saving it for my next pamper night, but by the sound of the description, I am pretty sure I will love this!

The third mask was from Banila Co and was the Dear Hydration Mask (RRP £5.00). How cute is the packaging on this? Almost too cute to open. Almost! This is packed with Lotus extract which helps to balance out oily skin, provide hydration and improve elasticity of the skin, whilst Bamboo Extract helps to purify the skin and prevent loss of moisture. This was the first mask I tried from this box, as I couldn’t resist the description- it sounded exactly like what my skin needed! All I can say is WOW. My skin was softer than the proverbial baby’s bottom after using this, and there is something so relaxing about using a sheet mask too, it just feels like a treat for the skin. I was so impressed by this that I have already looked on the website to source more! Luckily, Masktime allow you to re purchase masks from the boxes on their site and will post it out with your subscription to save postage costs! I’m ordering more of these on payday!

The final mask from the Glowstarter box was from another well known company, Tony Moly, and was the Natural Pure Rose Wood Mask Sheet (RRP £4.00). This mask is infused with natural Rose Wood Oil, which is known for providing lasting moisture to parched skin. Lavender improves elasticity, eucalyptus brightens the complexion, rosemary treats blemish prone skin and tea tress clams stressed out skin. This makes for one seriously radiant recipe! I think this will be the one I try next, as it sounds perfect for this time of year!

So that is everything in this months Glowstarter box. A quick total of the masks brings the box value to £16. So how much are you saving with this box?

The Prices.

This box has 2 options monthly.

The Glowstarter box is more of an introduction to Kbeauty sheet masks and is an extremely affordable £9.95 per month, with free shipping. This has 4 masks a month. So an overall saving of £6.05.

The Glowsetter box (see my separate review for the contents!) is £24.99 per month, again with free shipping. This has between 8-10 masks and is for the mask addicts amongst us (raise your hand, I won’t judge!).

Both boxes are shipped on the 2nd of the month and you can cancel anytime. It is billed monthly and there are no cancellation fees or hidden costs. The last day to order this box is the last day of the month.

But wait, there’s more!

We have an exclusive discount code! BOXESSIONX gives you a whopping 15% off your first box!

My verdict.

I could not love this box more if I tried. The chance to pamper, have some time for yourself and recharge with some high quality KBeauty sheet masks that suit the time of year perfectly! I sometimes struggle to know what my skin needs month to month but for some reason, Masktime knows! I am a mask addict, and this box fulfils all my needs and more. Who doesn’t want some well-deserved pamper time?
