BathBox Review January 2019 – By Sam

Firstly I would like to say a huge Thank you to Ryan from BathBox for sending me this box to review, and for the exclusive discount code: ‘BathboX’ giving you 10% off!

Bathbox is your monthly subscription of all things needed for the perfect bath. Each month you’ll receive a selection of hand-picked Bath Bombs, Soaps, Salts and other pamper treats curated perfectly into a themed box.

As a busy mum sometimes a nice long relaxing soak in the bath saves my sanity that’s why I  voted Bathbox as my favourite subscription box of 2018. This month is one that sings to my January blues-ridden heart, it’s cocktails! I love the fact all of the products are sourced in the UK, and the company are constantly working to be as environmentally friendly as possible. This year they have been reducing the plastic packaging and swapping it out where they can for fun, brightly designed tissue paper or paper wrappers that remind me of old school sweet shop bags. Every month the box just keeps getting better, they regularly hold polls on social media to get feedback; and even better they actually listen! It just shows how much they care about customers and lovers of baths all over the UK.

If you missed my unboxing you can catch it here…

As always it came via royal mail in a gorgeous flowery box that screamed WARNING: Pretty Things Inside. Upon opening the box I was greeted with the product card saying hello beautiful, a leaflet detailing the referral scheme and wrapped in baby pink tissue paper filled with baby pink wriggly worms to help keep all my cocktail bath-time delights safe.

So to kick-start our bath-time cocktail hour was…

Watermelon Mojito Bath Bomb ~ RRP £4.00

This was almost too pretty to use, but smells too delicious not to use! When I let it drop into the running water I was not disjointed it gave out the most gorgeous watermelon sent and pink slithers of what I can only describe as watermelon soap fizzed out creating a baby pink foam on the bath water making for a truly luxurious way to banish those January blues.

Tropical Cocktail Bathbomb ~Pina Colada Coconut ~ RRP £4.00

There was a possibility of receiving 3 different types of tropical cocktail bath bombs – Watermelon Daiquiri – Tangy Pineapple Margarita or Pina Colada Coconut I Received the latter.  I’m so glad I did I was instantly transported to a Spanish poolside with a cocktail in my hand as the warm bathwater swirled around me and the bomb fizzed away. I was left feeling soft, moisturised, and relaxed it was like a mini holiday in a bath-bomb.

Gooseberry Tea Bath Souffle ~ RRP £3.00

Wow, this turned my bath into the brightest shade of green you have ever seen that matched it’s fun, bubbly, uplifting fruity tea scent perfectly. It left a lovely foam on the surface and made me forget the cold weather outside. The Gooseberry teamed perfectly with the tea scent to create a truly refreshing British mock-tail bath.

Orange And Jasmine Aromatherapy Bath Salts ~ RRP £1.50

This is a sensual delight in a tube! The uplifting orange is sure to uplift the darkest of moods while the jasmine dances round it soothing your soul, leaving you feeling refreshed, relaxed and ready to brighten up another dull day.

Lime And Coconut Solid Shampoo Bar ~ RRP £3.00

I have not tried this yet as we still have another one in use, but I can’t wait to as this one has an argan oil base and is said to create a dense creamy lather with ease and leave the hair feeling moisturised! Bathbox has converted our whole household into solids shampoo converts, we all love the low waste factor of these bars and they last ages surprisingly. I can see myself cheerfully singing “you put the lime in the coconut and lather it up” every time I use it ha-ha.

This box is the Bomb! I received 5 items including 3 huge bombs with a Total approx RRP off £15.50 and the box is priced at under £10 makes it a complete bargain for a high quality themed bath set! Honestly, I have paid more for bath sets on sale that doesn’t even come close to the quality bathbox delivers every month.

The cocktail theme has been curated perfectly, banishing my January blues and transporting me to happy hour by a tropical pool. Honestly, for the price you pay, it’s brilliant value for money when you look at some well know bath shops sets. I love the fact they go all out to source cruelty-free products that are made in the UK, the boxes are well thought out and the curators love of fun, relaxing baths shines through with each and every box getting better and better. I mean guilt-free, low waste, sanity-saving treats that get you clean, all wrapped up pretty and telling you you’re beautiful… WINNER!

This is a must-have subscription and would make the perfect gift any time of the year. Every month I genuinely get excited when it gets delivered and have never been let down by it! It’s sure to be adored by the young and the old and makes bath time a treat rather than a chore even for the fussiest bathers.
