BathBox Review by Sam – December 2018

Firstly I would like to say a huge Thank you to Ryan from BathBox for sending me this box to review, and for the exclusive discount code: ‘BathboX’ giving you 10% off!

Bathbox is your monthly subscription of all things needed for the perfect bath. Each month you’ll receive a selection of hand-picked Bath Bombs, Soaps, Salts and other pamper treats curated perfectly into a themed box.

As a busy mum sometimes a nice long relaxing soak in the bath saves my sanity that’s why Bathbox is one of my all-time favourite subscription boxes, and this month was a magical theme! I love the fact all of the products are sourced in the UK, and the company are constantly working to be as environmentally friendly as possible. This year they have been reducing the plastic packaging and swapping it out where they can for fun, brightly designed tissue paper or paper wrappers that remind me of old school sweet shop bags. Every month the box just keeps getting better, they regularly hold polls on social media to get feedback; and even better they actually listen! It just shows how much they care about customers and lovers of baths all over the UK.

If you missed my unboxing you can catch it here…

This months theme, of course, was none other than Christmas!

As always it came via royal mail in a gorgeous flowery box that screamed WARNING: Pretty Things Inside. Upon opening the box I was greeted with the product card saying hello beautiful and to match this months theme crimson red tissue paper filled with straw style packaging worms to protect all of my Christmas bathtime delights.

So To Kick Start Our Mood Into The Festive Season Was…..

Chocolate Orange Bath Bomb – RRP £4.00

I have finally found a chocolate orange I love! The orange scent reminds me of clementines meets sherbet as it fizzed round my bath bringing childhood joy and wonder at how it smelt that good. I left the chocolate on because who doesn’t want to bathe in a bath full of wonder and chocolaty goodness?

Spiced Apple Bath Bomb – RRP £4.00

WOW! This smelt like warm mulled apple cider on a cold morning! It left my bath the most Christmasy shade of green you have ever seen, the apple was pure, calming and invigorating whilst the cinnamon warmed and soothed the soul.

Fresh Mint Heart Bath Fizzer  – RRP £3.00

Unfortunately, my first ever bath box casualty in 13 months that good going and it was still perfectly imperfect! I had a gorgeous mint green water swirl around me as the fizzer burst and gave out a gorgeous awakening fresh mint chocolate scent.

Candy Cane Bath Salts – RRP £1.50

These smelt like pure candy canes straight from the north pole crushed up and when mixed with hot water gave me the most invigorating ever especially when I teamed it with a hot steaming mug of mulled wine and a few candles it was the perfect Christmas getaway!

Ginger Bread Man Chocolate Soap – RRP £2.00

OH MY GOD! This smells soooo good! It literally smells like a rich, creamy Christmas chocolate pudding! It honestly had my mouth watering, I could no smell a hint of soap and had to check it was soap (please do not try this I can tell you now it tastes nowhere near as good as it smells ha-ah) This is sat on our kitchen sink and has been a huge hit in our house and has wowed our friends and family, my hard to please teenage son even took a photo of it to send his friends cos it’s just that cool.

I received items including 3 huge bombs with a Total approx RRP off £14.50 and the box is priced at under £10 makes it a complete bargain for a high quality themed bath set! A themed Christmas set from a well-known brand or high street shop would put you back a lot more!

Their curation of Christmas was more perfectly executed than a Nativity play, bringing the warmth of Christmas into a hot steaming, scented relaxing hug of a bath and included everything you could possibly need to unwind into a peaceful and fun Christmas.

Honestly, for the price you pay, it’s brilliant value for money when you look at some well know bath shops sets. I love the fact they go all out to source cruelty-free products that are made in the UK, the boxes are well thought out and the curators love of fun, relaxing baths shines through with each and every box getting better and better. I mean guilt-free, low waste, sanity-saving magical treats that get you clean, all wrapped up pretty and telling you you’re beautiful… WINNER!

This is a must-have subscription and would make the perfect gift any time of the year. Every month I genuinely get excited when it gets delivered and have never been let down by it! It’s sure to be adored by the young and the old and makes bath time a treat rather than a chore even for the fussiest bathers.
