Pub Supper Box Review by Hayley & Nick – December 2018

Hi guys, back once again with another fabulous subscription box, this time all things pub-snack related; a pub snacks subscription box.

They have created what can only be described as one of life’s simple pleasures! A box packed full of delicious pub inspired snacks that you can enjoy at home every month, just pour a drink. Also perfect for this time of year as I love to have lots of snacks for friends and family should they drop by with a pack of beers or a bottle of wine.

Pub Supper is the UK’s first and only subscription that sends you a specially curated selection of 9 truly premium, pub inspired bar snacks that are all chosen to be enjoyed with drinks.

Before I delve into the details, let us just say a massive thank you to Ryan over at Pub Supper for sending us this box to review, we love snacks and we love beer, perfect! If you missed our live unboxing, you can watch it back here…

How it works?

On the 20th day of every month, they send all of the delicious snacks they’ve curated for that month to all of their excited members. Delivery is made by Royal Mail and takes 2 working days.

You must subscribe before the 15th to receive that month’s box, if you don’t, you’ll receive the next month’s box. After receiving your first box you’ll be re-billed on the 1st day of each month. You can cancel anytime after the 20th of each month but before the 1st.

The Cost

Pub Supper’s snack box costs just £15 per month including postage and packaging, and the guys have given us an amazing exclusive discount of £2.50 off your first box with the code BOXESSION!

The Contents

As I am a vegetarian, Nick and I shared the contents of the box, plenty for us both!

Dolce La Dolce Cashew Crunch

Lightly sweetened nut clusters with cashews and rice crisps- these were absolutely divine, a perfect mixture of sweet and a touch of salty from the nuts, I’m going to have to put these on the shopping list!

Brave Roasted Peas

These yummy sour cream and chive flavour roasted pea snacks were the perfect snack for a beer with, not overly salty as is common in some pea snacks, and sour cream and chive is one of my fave flavours too!

Indie Bay Snacks- Spelt Pretzel Bites

These BBQ flavoured spelt pretzel bites went perfectly with a bottle of beer too, again not overly salty but mega crunchy and full of flavour too. Ive never tried spelt before either, something I quite like.

Serious Pig- Crunchy Baked Cheese

Oh my days, I adore these. Oven baked and dehydrated Italian cheese snacks, absolutely delicious and sharp cheese flavour. I didn’t need a drink to enjoy these and certainly would buy these again. Cheese is life after all…

Fiore di Puglia Taralli Cipolla E Olive

These are a traditional Italian snack with a traditional Italian flavour of onion and olive, firm favourites in our household. These have been put away for Christmas snacking, but I’m sure they will be devoured in no time!

Mackies of Scotland Potato Crisps; Haggis and Black Pepper and Flamegrilled Aberdeen Angus

Nick jumped on these as soon as we finished the live! His verdict on the Haggis and Black Pepper and the flamegrilled Aberdeen Angus potato crisps? ‘Absolutely fantastic. Really thick and really crunchy crisps, full of flavour both of them, definitely something I would buy again!

Mr Tubs Pork Scratchings Honey Roast Flavour

Nick describes these as a little bag of heaven, something he would definitely buy again. The honey roast flavour being something he loves anyway. Perfect balance of sweet-ish and salty according to him.

Awfully Posh Anglesey Sea Salt Pork Crackling

More crunchy and far saltier these according to Nick, perhaps a tad too salty. Nothing a cold beer didn’t solve!

Our Verdict

These, in our opinion, are truly luxury up-market pub snacks, something we’ve not seen before certainly! There’s a fantastic range of products inside suited to virtually all dietary persuasions and plenty to share with a partner (clearly…) or with other members of the family also. And perfectly suited paired with a cold beer, real ale or a glass of crisp white wine. A box I would definetly consider subscribing to! I think my favourite item in the box was the baked Italian cheese bites with the cashew crunch a very close second, and Nicks favourite in the box were the honey roast pork crackling, he said they were the best pork crackling he has ever had.
