The Cruelty Free Beauty Box Review by Mel – December 2018

Well, I am thoroughly spoilt this month. This is my third box in a row from The Cruelty Free Beauty Box. Chloe who owns it, did tell me that they had sold out of their December edit, but luckily she managed to secure some more items as so many people were asking if she had any left.

Of course I will never turn down an offer to review this box, it is an absolute pleasure. Even just looking at it, how pretty is this?

This month’s tissue has snowflakes on it, and I do absolutely love Christmas.

If you missed my live unboxing, you can watch it back here on our YouTube Channel…

So what is in my Box?

Box Total = £49.14!!

So, if you deduct what it will cost for your first box (£13.46 with our discount code), that is a MASSIVE £35.68 saving. If you are still reading right now, I wouldn’t bother, head straight to The Cruelty Free Beauty Box to get one of the last few of these boxes before they sell out!

So how does it work?

The Cruelty Free Beauty Box contains 5 Beauty items each month. These can be full size, travel size or samples. There is a questionnaire to complete when subscribing that allows the boxes to be personalised to you. You can select your Skin tone & type, Makeup style, hair length & type, and there are even questions asking if you sunbathe or use fake tan.

  • Month by Month – £14.95 including P&P
  • 3 Month Prepay – £43.50 (making it £14.50 per box)
  • 6 Month Prepay – £84 (making it £14 per box)

You are billed on the 1st of each month, and shipping is around 10th of the month.

Use the discount code ‘BOXESSION’ for 10% off your first box too!

Time for the best bit, the testing…

Peppermint Cream Vegan Lip Scrub by Fairypants

I use lip scrubs every night before bed, so I do get through quite a bit. If I am honest I have a tendency to eat them a bit too, I mean they are made from sugar mostly and I have a sweet tooth. This flavour is perfect for this time of year, reminds you of candy canes. This is cheaper to buy than my usual brand of lip scrub, so I will be looking at other flavours on The Cruelty Free Beauty Box Shop when I have used all of this. They have Marshmallow, Parma Violet and Bubblegum, all of which I would love.

Bellapierre Cosmetics Mineral Blush

We all know that I am not a huge makeup person, but I do wear it for occasions. This is full size, and retails at £20, more than the entire cost of the box! The colour of mine is really subtle, I would never be able to go full bright with blusher. I am on the wrong side of 30s for that, ha!

LUE Balance Face Serum

Yes! I mentioned last month that I wanted to try more from LUE after I tried their ‘Clear’ and loved it. This serum is lightweight, absorbs quickly into my skin and has gone straight into my daily routine. You use serum after cleanser and toner, but before moisturiser. This is oil free, and just perfect for my skin type. Really happy with this.

Le Mont Botanique 2 Minute Hair Mask

I am loving this hair mask. You do not need to shampoo your hair before using it. I did by accident and then read the label. It lathers up a little when you put it on, and I really like that about it. It is made with fuller’s earth soil! One thing I noticed, is that after using it my hair dried so quickly, and it was really light, almost weightless. I would definitely buy another one of these. I would say I will get another 3 uses from this one.

Natura Avocado Infused Sheet Mask

Definitely a fan of face masks being in boxes, I use at least one a week, usually 2.  This is a new brand for me, it is Vegan too.

Bain & Savon Fizzy Orange Bath Melt Pieces

I am sure at times that I drive around with my eyes closed, as during the live unboxing I realised that I used to live just up the road from Green Bank Farm where these are made. I could not believe that all of the 5 years that I lived there I managed to miss this, as they also sell Shampoo & Conditioner bars too! I used to have to drive an hour to Carlisle to pick some up. Well, these smell good enough to eat, like white chocolate with orange in. They look beautiful, with tint orange pieces embedded in.

I am saving these for Sunday, my youngest is having his 4th Birthday Party, and after lots of noise and small children I have promised myself a Bath. I have to say, I am really keen on trying a shampoo bar now too, and they are sold on The Cruelty Free Beauty Boxes Website/Shop!

My Verdict?

If you do not buy this months box then you are mad! It is the best box I have had from them, every single item in this box is suited to me and I am so happy that they managed to secure more stock to fulfil the demand of orders.

You really need to hurry up if you want to get one, as I got mine in the first batch of shipped boxes, so I can’t guarantee that there will be that many left now.

Go go go… remember, Guilt Free!
