Cupid Box Review by Mel – October 2018

When Debbie and the Team over at Cupid Box asked us to review their newly launched ‘Date Night in a Box’, I jumped at the opportunity. I think it has been 4 years, maybe more since Rob and I have been on a couples night out. A mixture of a lack of Babysitters and just life being busy in general means by the time we have sat down at night; we usually just crash.

Even after 7 years, we do still like one another (shock horror!), and so we would absolutely love some ‘us’ time. If you can relate to this, then it is possible that this box could be right up your street!

The box arrived via My Hermes, and it was obvious by the ‘Cupid Box’ Logo exactly what it was!

If you missed my live unboxing, you can watch it back on our YouTube Channel here…

With this months theme being Paris, it is perfect for us. We often holiday there, but with the Children of course. We are going again for 2 weeks in June!

So Whats inside the Box?

  • A4 Dot to dot painting

  • 2 x ‘One Day in Paris’ perfect day cards
  • The Language of Love Phrase card

  • Date Night Brochure with Activity details

As you can see by the brochure, it is very detailed. It includes activity guidelines with step by step instructions on how to use each of the items to create your Date Night.

Below is the dot to dot paint activity. What we had to do is start at either end to join the dots. So I was dot 1, and Rob was dot 515. When we both met in the middle we had drawn the famous painting the ‘Mona Lisa’. We were also provided with watercolour paints to complete our masterpiece.

We received a 3D puzzle of the Notre Dame to complete together which was next on our Date. It was a little bit fiddly, but kind of fun doing something we would not ordinarily think of doing.

Next was my favourite Activity. We used the map and the cards to create our own ‘One Day in Paris’. I have always wanted to go to Paris just the two of us, so this was so much fun. I chose the obvious landmarks, whereas Rob chose all the places to eat food. I should not be so surprised, he loves french food!

Which takes me directly to the next activity, Crepes! Now we slightly cheated as Rob made me these for Breakfast in Bed as we did not want to eat them late at night. We already both love pancakes so these went down a treat!

The little cards and pens are for last. There is a list of questions such as most memorable moments, and describe me in 3 words. I will keep this part a secret as we can’t give away some things can we now, haha!

The Cost?

  • Monthly – £25 per month including postage
  • 3 Months – £70 (£23.33 per box) Includes postage
  • 6 Months – £120 (£20 per box) Includes postage

You can use the code ‘BOXESSION25’ for 25% off your first box!

Our Verdict

It was great to have some much needed couple time. The idea and concept is brilliant, and I love the way you have to read the booklet to go on your journey. It really does set the mood and the scene, and the candle adds the romantic touch too.

I would definitely subscribe to this, and am excited to see what is in the box next month; I will be stalking their Instagram!

Thank you again to Cupid Box for this fantastic treat!
