What I thought:

The Urban Fermentery Lil Kimi Chi (Original Sesame Kimchi)

For those of you that don’t know Kimchi is a staple in Korean Cuisine. Made with fermented napa cabbage, vegetables and spices to produce a bacterially rich, crunchy, sour condiment perfect for any meal. Kimchi can be added to stir fry, eggs, toasted sandwiches, bloody Mary’s or eaten straight from the packet to give a probiotic boost. In my opinion Kimchi is very similar to sauerkraut, as it has that same crunchy, fresh sour taste to it but unlike sauerkraut it has a little added spice. The great thing about Lifebox is it always provides ideas on how to use the products in the box. The accompanying booklet has a Bibimbap recipe (albeit a few ingredient substitutions) that was quick and easy to follow and resulted in a tasty enjoyable meal, although for some it may be an acquired taste.

Leitchy Creates Coconut Chocolate Chip Chia Pudding

Heaven in a packet! This premixed packet is the perfect quick fix pudding to satisfy those dessert cravings. Containing many of my favourite ingredients I knew instantly this had to be the first thing I tried. Pleasantly sweet and full of flavour this may be my new go to dessert as the mix is fairly easy to recreate. The instructions on the back and serving suggestions are also really handy.

5th Season Freeze Dried Strawberries

This little packet of fruit is 100% natural and 1 of your 5 a day. Not only is this delicious they’re also less than 40 calories per bag! The strawberries are chopped into small pieces and are just the right size to add to my breakfast cereal. They are perfect; not too sweet not too sharp and a nice texture. Also, great to add to yogurt or use as a cake topping.

Super U Berry Beauty Superfood Blend (3 Day Trial Pack)

Containing plenty of goodness this little packet packs a punch! Said to achieve radiant skin, improve digestion, provide immune support and give you that energy boost. It is only a three-day trial pack, but I’ve already started seeing a difference. My sleeping patterns have always been bad, and I am always feeling tired and fatigued. Since using this blend I have been feeling a lot more energised and refreshed. I think if I was to use for longer the benefits would really be noticeable. It has all-natural ingredients and also has a pleasant berry taste. It can be mixed and enjoyed in water, cereal or even smoothies.

Sweet Revolution Instant Chicory Latte

As most of you know I don’t like coffee and even though this is a coffee substitute it still very much tastes like coffee. So, to write a fair review I gave it to my coffee loving hubby to try. What he said – Smooth tasting and just as fulfilling as regular coffee, the coconut milk powder adds that little bit of sweetness to it too. It is simple to make (just add water!) and is definitely a convenient and portable way to have a frothy yummy latte.

Vegan | Gluten free | Organic| Dairy Free | Caffeine Free

Emily Veg Crisps Sweet Potato Sticks – With Sea Salt

I absolutely love these, and I can’t stop eating them! You can’t beat the crunch of a good crisp, but of course they are not generally the healthiest of options. Well these crisps are 1 of your 5 a day, delicious and moreish so I don’t feel too guilty eating them! The bright purple packaging really stands out and catches your attention; I can’t wait to buy some more of these.

Vegan | Gluten free

Nobó Mint Chocolate Disc

This choc disc is made using a maximum of 6 ingredients including cocoa butter, coconut sugar, cocoa nibs, cashew nut butter and coconut. Each handmade disc is free from gluten, dairy, refined sugar and is suitable for vegetarians and vegans. The pop of colour on the packaging is extremely eye catching and is fully compostable. Deliciously smooth and creamy with a just the right amount of peppermint added to it. It also has a satisfying crunch to it which makes it the perfect after meal treat.

Vegan | Gluten free | No Refined Sugar | Dairy Free

Kiki Health Alkaline Infusion

Alkaline Infusion is a beauty and health supplement that contains minerals and vitamin C that provides beneficial effects for the health, function and appearance of the skin, teeth and bones. I was very surprised how nice and sweet it tastes, it reminded me of lemon sherbet! Whilst taking this I did feel like my skin looked brighter and less dull and I felt more alert. But as it is a sample size it was hard to tell what the full benefits were. A bit on the expensive side for the full sized product but if it does what it says on the tin, then it is definitely worth the price!

Vegan | Gluten free | Wheat Free

Creative Nature Raw Cacao Superfood Flapjack

I love flapjacks, and this was no exception! Made with good natural ingredients and tastes delicious, and what’s great is the sugar is all natural from the dates and raisins. Low on calories, packed with raw superfood ingredients and 1 of your 5 a day, what more could you ask for? Great for when you’re feeling peckish and as an afternoon snack.

Vegan | Gluten free | Dairy Free |Wheat Free | Soya Free| Peanuts Free

Aduna Super Tea Pyramid (Mint, Nettle & Moringa)

Initially I didn’t think I’d like this as the nettles and liquorice root in the ingredients put me off, and on tasting I didn’t feel any differently. Although lovely and minty it was spoiled but the aniseed taste which I absolutely can’t stand unfortunately. Sadly, this tea isn’t for me, but I do really like the packaging and the fact that it is ethically sourced.

Vegan | Gluten free | Natural| Organic

Pollen & Grace Snack Bar (Sesame & Acai)

This bar is enriched with superfoods and made using real ingredients which really shows through in the flavour. It has a lovely soft chewy texture almost like fudge and the flavour combination works really well together. The only downside is the size as it was gone within a few bites!

Vegan | Gluten free | Dairy Free | Wheat Free | Natural

Humble Warrior Divine Oasis Elixir (Tulsi, Matcha and Ginger)

This has been created with Ayurvedic and nutritionist experts, and contains special plants known as adaptogens – revered for centuries in the East for their stress-fighting benefits. I am not a big fan of anything that tastes too gingery, but I must say I found this utterly refreshing. The ginger is not too overpowering and has lovely citrus undertones. Really good for giving you that little extra boost of energy to get through you the day.

Vegan | Gluten free | Plant Based| Organic| Non-GMO| No Refined Sugar

Verdict

I am always raving about this box as it is so well thought out. Lifebox have taken the time to source products that are vegan, gluten and dairy free (many of the products are also organic) so it’s suitable for those who follow a vegan lifestyle or have intolerances. One of the things I love most about this box (besides the food) is that I receive such a wide range of products so there’s guaranteed to be something for everyone. Each month you receive up to 12 products and many of the products only have a few ingredients so it’s great to know that I am putting only good things into my body. All the products are healthy, nutritious and above all delicious. Whether you want to enjoy some guilt free treats or want to improve and introduce wholesome food into your diet, this box would make a great gift for you or a loved one.
