Letterbox Bakery Review by Jasmine – July 2018

The Letterbox Bakery is a baked goods subscription box service that as the company says on their Instagram profile “When a chef & a dietician come together, magical things can happen” and that statement is so true the baked goods are so delicious, they will leave you wanting more. The company try to always use locally sourced and/or fair-trade ingredients when possible. I want to say a super massive thank you to Katie for sending this box out to me as this is actually the second one that they sent out as the first one vanished when it was in R.M. care. So, thank you Katie also I like the idea of the plain paper envelope over the box to try to conceal the goodies within, but I think the aroma of your fresh-baked goods is too good for some to resist the temptation. The box is the perfect size to fit through your letterbox as you could guess probably by the name, the baked goods can be individually wrapped for wedding, baby showers and/or party favours too.

Let’s take a look at the scrumptious baked goods I received in the Taster Box:

Chocolate Fudge Brownie

Perfect consistency, a great mixture of crumbling brownie and soft gooey brownie.

Salted Caramel Brownie

This brownie was a little bit too chocolatey & gooey for my taste, but the caramel was yummy even though it was like normal caramel and not salted.

Salted Caramel Flapjack

Nice flapjack but I personally couldn’t taste the salted caramel.

Double Chocolate Flapjack

This was my first chocolate flapjack and I must say the chocolatey rolled oats taste amazing.

Millionaire Slice Flapjack

This may be my favourite baked good from the box, I loved it so much the full piece vanished.

Chocolate Teacake Tiffin

I absolutely adore the mix of different textures as well as taste.

Peanut Butter Tiffin with peanut butter cups

Ryan my other half absolutely loved this at first (seriously he was making weird noises), but the hidden fruit ruined it for him.

Peanut Butter Brownie

A bit too gooey for Ryan and the peanut butter was a little bit plain tasting.

Peanut Butter Flapjack

Unfortunately, again a little bit too gooey of a consistency and also a little bit too salty.

Milk Chocolate Rocky Road

Full of flavour and various textures for every dry crunchy bit there is a sweet gooey piece.

White Chocolate Rocky Road

White Chocolate Rocky Road

At first it tasted really nice and a lovely coconut tasting but then for some reason it tasted like chicken noodles so safe to say it wasn’t to my taste at all.

Ryan’s opinion:

I personally wouldn’t have bought something like this & think maybe swapping the fruit in the baked goods to maybe bananas or some other fruit that would compliment the flavours The Letterbox Bakery wish to achieve. I like my chocolate sweet to be exactly that chocolatey not fruity but that is just my personal taste & opinion.

Jasmine’s opinion:

I absolutely love this box even though some of the goods I couldn’t try, and I had to be careful as peanut baked goods were included. I personally really liked the fruit mixed in, but I do agree with Ryan maybe a better suited fruit like banana would have made them perfect. This sweet treat box had me drooling in anticipation and as I said in my live I had to hide it, so I didn’t open it and scoff the lot. I think the price is very good and I like the health kick from these delicious goodies.

I hope you enjoyed my live unbox & full review,
