Vegan Tuck Box Review by Jacey – November 2017

First of all I just want to say Thank You to the people at Vegan Tuck Box for sending a box to BoXession. When I found out that it was a food box I got very excited, who wouldn’t? As soon as it came I suddenly felt a pang of hunger, this is going to be good! One great thing I first noticed about this box is that it fits through the letterbox! No more running to the post office with the dreaded red card in hand! There is nothing worse than coming home after a long day to a red card.
This box is shipped anywhere in the world too, which I love as most companies I have seen restrict to particular countries which is a shame. I have some friends abroad that would absolutely love this box so I’m happy to send them one as a little gift.

As soon as I received the box I wanted to open straight away but kept it sealed till the live unboxing which you can watch here:

The box itself was a simple but delightful design; the logo dominated the front of the box and the handles printed onto the sides in a good bold print. As soon as I opened the box I got a good tantalising smell waft up from inside the box, a mix of nuts and lemon by the smell. There wasn’t any extra packaging, which is great that they keep things as minimal as possible, which is fantastic for the environment.
The first item I pulled out was the Teapigs Clean and Green detox tea. I am a huge fan of herbal teas, especially green tea infused with tasty combinations. This particular tea had a blend of lemongrass, ginger, coconut, and dandelion leaves. I was looking forward to tasting it so much I switched the kettle on as soon as I finished my live unboxing. There’s something about sitting down with a nice steaming hot herbal tea to wash your worries away. Green tea has many health benefits too so I felt brand new after drinking this delicious tea.
The next item I pulled out of the box was a Rhythm 108 Hazelnut praline quinoa Swiss dark chocolate bar. I got extremely excited about trying this bar, as I am a massive lover of chocolate, I don’t usually buy dark chocolate as some bars can taste quite bitter, but when I tasted this particular one, wow! I got a very strong but not overwhelming taste of chocolate, which would satisfy any chocolate craving. It instantly melted in my mouth. I will definitely be purchasing more of these! It also helps that it only has 7gs of natural sugar so you don’t feel so guilty eating it.
The next item I discovered was an interesting one; it was a small treat bag of Darling Corn barbecue kernels. As soon as I opened the bag the smell hit me! and what an extremely mouth watering smell! I am a massive fan of barbecue flavoured products and this one did not disappoint, they were very tasty and crunchy. I will admit I have never actually tried toasted kernels before but I will definitely be buying these in the future as they had an interesting crunchy texture.
I continued onto the next item, which was the Snact Banana bar. I have heard of this bar before, the company had quite an interesting story behind their products as they launched a campaign to fight food wastage by making the bars out of surplus bananas that have been sourced from pack houses that supply to retailers and other traders. So before I had even tried the bar I felt like buying these particular bars would help cut down food waste. The taste was quite unique too; it packed a punch with its carrot and spice flavouring. This bar has been described as ‘fruit jerky’ and I can see why as its quite a chewy texture.
The next item I pulled out of this tasty box was a Pulsin apple and cinnamon porridge oat bar. I buy a lot of oat bars but find there is a lot of unnecessary added sugar in them. This particular bar has 30% less sugar and double the fibre of most other bars in shops and online. So you instantly feel less guilty of eating this. It had a lovely Apple pie kind of flavour, something that reminded me of what my grandma used to bake when I was little. These are perfect for breakfast.
The last item I pulled out was the one that I got the most excited about, it was the Zoot Natural cashew and caramel bar. My favourite flavour in the world is caramel, so I couldn’t wait to rip open this delicious bar! As soon as I took a bite the caramel taste instantly hit my mouth and it was extremely scrumptious. This item is going straight in my basket. This was by far my favourite out of the whole box.
Reading up on the website about these items I found that they have an online tuck shop where you can purchase more of your favourite bars. You can also state to them if you have any dietary requirements like if you need or prefer gluten free options.
