Look Fantastic Beauty Box Review by Mel – August 2017

Global Glamour Edit

This is the first time I have live unboxed a LF Beauty Box. I have been a poorly Mel, and what better way to cheer myself up than to open a box full of lovely treats?! With the BoXession Group going from strength to strength, and the new addition of our YouTube Channel, I jumped at the opportunity to share this with you all.

Inside the lid of the pretty box this month it says:
”600 Brands, 166 Countries, 1 Look Fantastic #LFBEAUTYBOX”
I love how they always seem to get this so right, every teeny bit of detail in this box, the free ELLE Magazine, the matching colour scheme… all Admin have their own preferences of what we love from a Box, and this one never fails to deliver for me!
How Look Fantastic works?
The difference with this Subscription is they are billed monthly regardless of the length of time you sign up for, so no expensive outlay to get the boxes for less.

  • One off Box – £15
  • 3 Month Subscription – £14.50 billed monthly
  • 6 Month Subscription – £13.75 billed monthly
  • 12 Month Subscription – £13 billed monthly

All of the above prices include P&P. I always like to get a further bargain, so I researched any Cashback offers and found one on TopCashback for £21 cash back if you sign up to a 12 Month Deal. Now if yo deduct that per month my actual cost for this box is £11.25 A MONTH INCLUDING P&P! Bargain !!
So What’s in the Box?

  • Lottie London Balm Ball Lip Hydrator in Strawberry Shortcake Full Size RRP £5
  • Mane ‘n Tail Shampoo Mini 60ml (RRP £5.99 for 355ml)
  • Mane ‘n Tail Conditioner Mini 60ml (RRP £5.99 for 355ml)

Now comes the fun bit …

This isn’t my favourite box so far from LF, but I am not at all disappointed.
The Lottie Lip Ball is my favourite item, it smells good enough to eat, its so cute and handy and I have been using it every day since I got this box. I have realised that there are variations on the scents people received – I saw someone share a cherry one and realised that I will be buying this again. They are perfect for handbags, easy to use, perfect for any time of the year… I could go on, but you get the point ha ha!
The Skin7 BB Cream unsurprisingly suits my pale milk bottle skin – bonus! They are usually too dark for me so I was very impressed that this is one I can use.
The Shampoo & Conditioner are perfect for my upcoming holiday to the Cotswolds, products like these always get used. I have tried samples of this brand before too and the results were good.
The Lord and Berry Brow Pencil looks great! Its a marbled effect and although I haven’t used it properly yet this is due to me having micro bladed eyebrows. I will only need to use this if I wear makeup, so I am unsure as to whether or not I am keeping it yet but only for that reason. It is well placed in the box and I would call it a deluxe travel size. I only realised it wasn’t full size when I looked online and realised that the bigger one has a brush on the end. I would not have guessed otherwise.
The Gatineau Cleanser is definitely a Mel item, I am already a fan of cream cleansers because they are very gentle on the skin. I find it is the only thing I can use after tweezing my eyebrows that doesn’t sting. I am currently using a Boots No 7 one, but it is a huge bottle and this is the perfect dinky travel size. It has a gorgeous fresh smell to it which I am loving as they usually have little or no scent. This will also be coming on holiday with me.
The only item that doesn’t impress me is the Korres Bodymilk. I just don’t use them at all. I never have the time to stand there and cover myself in lotion – I am a mum of two boys and when I am not running around after them I am doing something box related. It smells gorgeous and the brand is amazing as I use their Shower Gels, but this is a swap to go on the BoXession group!
My Verdict?
It isn’t my favourite box from LF to date, but it is just so well thought out and put together. I have never been able to find fault in this box, even when there are one or two items that I won’t use I manage to swap or sell them. For what I pay (£11.25 inc P&P), when you consider the cost of the ELLE Magazine which is £4.30 thats less than £1 per item in this box! The contents I have put at around £40. I always stalk the postie for this one ladies…
Thank you for reading,
Mel xx
