Treatbox Review by Michelle – June 2017

When I received May’s Treatbox I loved it so much that I quickly sent my mum an email hinting that I’d love a subscription for my upcoming birthday; so I was massively excited and surprised to find June’s Treatbox on my door mat on the 1st of June. Luckily my mum has let me open it already as an early birthday present, as I don’t think I could have resisted having a sneaky peek.
Treatbox is a lifestyle subscription box that contains just what it says on the box, lots of lovely treats for you and your home. Each month has a different theme, and this month’s is Mermaid/Beach themed.
Boxes that take that extra bit of time and care with their presentation are my favourites, and Treatbox does just this. From the branded plastic that covers the box meaning the contents won’t get ruined if the postie leaves it out in the rain, to the coloured paper that has been lovingly hand wrapped around your goodies, and matches to the theme of the box.
On opening the box, you are greeted by a little sticker that gives a clue to the month’s theme. This month it says in beautiful pastel coloured script “You are mer-mazing”. I’m loving the whole mermaid trend at the moment, so this upped my excitement levels immediately. In the box, there is a sheet listing the contents of the box that also has a calendar for June 2017 on it, I tell you they’ve thought of everything!
The first thing I took out of my box was a beautiful print on high quality paper that says “mermaid kisses and starfish wishes”. Once I’ve got a frame for it, it’ll be going in my downstairs loo, which is seaside themed. Joining it will be the wooded Sass & Belle plaque that has “By the sea, by the beautiful sea. You and me, you and me, oh how happy we will be!” on it. June’s subscribers will receive one of two versions of this plaque, the other says “Oh, I do like to be beside the seaside!”. I love Sass & Belle products, and already have a few dotted around my house, so I was thrilled to receive this. Staying on the theme of things that’ll be going in my downstairs loo (it’s going to look even more amazing once I’ve put all these things in it) is a super cute hanging wooded yacht decoration with the phrase “sail away with me” on it. Yet again it’s a lovely quality item that has a vintage feel to it with the distressed paintwork. I have a really sweet tooth so the next item gets two thumbs up from me. A stick of rainbow coloured seaside rock, with a cute little heart and treatbox running through it. I’ve been good and not tried it yet, but the leaflet says that it is strawberry flavoured.
As I hadn’t peeked at the information leaflet in the box, I thought the next item in my box was the last. It was a huge (53 x 41 x 17 cm) beach bag printed with “take me to the Beach”. I love that it’s apparently splash proof, and that it has a Velcro closure so whatever you put in it doesn’t fall out. This is the item in the box I think I’ll get the most use out of, as I love a tote with a fun phrase or cute print on.
Hidden under the bag was a notepad with MerBoss and a seashell design on each page, there’s also plenty of space to write on it the pages. I have lots of notepads dotted around the house to write things down on, as my memory is terrible, so this will come in really useful. Last but not least, also hidden under the bag was a cute blue cord bracelet with a silver tone mermaid charm on it. I very rarely wear bracelets, so may gift this item. I think the way the bracelet is packaged will make it a great gift, as it comes wrapped in plastic on a seashell design card saying “mermaids have more fun”.
You can probably tell that I love this box, each item fits perfectly with the box’s theme and my personal style. I’m not sure my husband will love it as much as me though, when I ask him to get his drill out to hang the decorations up. Receiving and opening it all was the perfect start to a new month and I can’t wait to open next month’s box. Fingers crossed my mum bought me 12 month subscription, but if she didn’t I’ll definitely be continuing my subscription.
It’s difficult to work out pricing for the items this box, as so many of the items have been specially produced for this month’s Treatbox. I’m sure you’ll agree though, it’s definitely over the cost of the box.
Treatbox costs a different amount per box depending on the length of subscription that you choose. All of the below options include P&P:
